Little Hands – Autumn Favorites

Autumn is one of the most inspiring seasons for craft making. Of course, Halloween has much to do with this, but color and playfulness are the true themes of the season. We searched high and low for fun crafts to add to our Little Hands collection and rounded up these three projects to add color and fun to any Autumn day.

First, Silly Birds Puppets from Housing A Forest. We love this twist on the turkey theme. We also thought the use of colored tape instead of paint was a fun take on this craft. Here is our own variation: Fill a large bowl with sand or dry beans to hold a bouquet of Silly Birds for a flamboyant Halloween centerpiece.

Of course, we had to throw a pumpkin in the mix. The Artful Parent provided plenty of inspiration with links to several ideas, so here is a link to the entire page: The Artful Parent – Pumpkin Decorating Ideas… But we have a personal favorite: Magazine Collage Jack-O-Lanterns. You might even win a pumpkin decorating contest with this one!

We conclude this Autumn Crafts round-up by stopping at Inner Child Fun. The Candy Corn Treat Cone caught our eye. We think it would make an excellent party favor even for adults. We can imagine the kids planning a gift of assorted candies placed at every seat at the Thanksgiving table.

Happy Autumn!
