Silvio’s Workbench – Journey of The Bee

It was a Monday, in June, when the first bee was born.

The Golden Eye, a long-established jewelry shop in Santa Fe featuring the works of Silvio and other master jewelers, wanted a prototype for a bee and hive pendant. Silvio went to the drawing board.

A design began to take shape.

Add gemstones to taste…

This, then, is the prototype and model that will be used by the Golden Eye to make many more beehive pendants for their clients. Gems will vary, as will materials. For example, imagine a gold bee on a silver hive, or a gold background shining through the silver hive. Imagine gems of different colors. Each might be the birthstone of a different family member… the possibilities are almost as numerous as bees in the hive.
