Monday, 3 pm. Memories of bees.
Several months ago, Silvio carved a life-size bee out of wax to make a mold for a custom piece. “This must be the smallest design I have ever carved,” he recalls, “and the most time-consuming because of the scale and details.”
Silvio hopes to incorporate more sterling silver bees like these in future designs. “They would make nice post earrings,” he suggests.
It is time for a short break and he relaxes by taking a moment to browse through recent photographs. “Do you know Annie Winslow?” he asks, “artist Karen Winslow‘s daughter? She works at 158 Main Restaurant. She picked up a pendant recently and I have a picture of her wearing it.”
Annie had noticed the pendant in Silvio’s display and returned to purchase it. Perhaps it is the unique Druzy Agate that had caught her eye. This particular stone is characterized by a delicate crystalline fractal beneath the surface. It catches the light quite vibrantly.
